Director of Cricket: Michael Carberry

Born in Croydon, Michael needs know introduction to most cricket fans. As a left-handed opening batter Michael enjoyed a long and successful playing career which included playing six Tests fro England. His career took him across the county circuit but it was his exploits for Hampshire for which he will be best remembered for.

Michael was a stylish performer and amassed over 13,000 runs in First-Class cricket which included a remarkable 35 hundreds. His county career finished with Leicestershire in 2018 and since then Michael has gone onto work in the media, cricket coaching and on his art work.

As Director of Cricket Michael will oversee our coaching structure but, most importantly, will be on hand to offer our talented young players any advice on their game.

Lead coach, Under 11-Under 15: Scott Newman

Educated at Trinity School, Scott made a big impression on the county circuit when he hit 99 for Surrey against Hampshire in 2002. Several years of impressive performances earned him a place in the ECB National Academy squad for the 2003/04 winter.

After moving onto Middlesex and eventually retiring from professional cricket, opening batsman Scott has gone onto make himself one of the most prolific run-scorers in club cricket in both Kent and Surrey.

Under 11 manager: Graham Leggett

Graham is no stranger to London Schools' having played for us as a child and now he has come full circle to take charge of our youngest players.

An exceptional top-order batter, Graham played his cricket at Finchley Cricket Club and was part of their side which won the Evening Standard Challenge Trophy in 1993.

He also played some 2XI county cricket during his career.

Under 12 manager: Aaron Bowers


Under 13 manager: Jon Mather

A technically-gifted, top-order batter, Jon scored bucket loads of runs playing club cricket for North Mymms.

He oversees our talented Under 13 side and his number one hope is that his players enjoying playing for London Schools'.

Jon also coaches the Hertfordshire University cricket team.

Under 14 manager: Steve Dolben

Steve combines his role in helping to oversee our school competitions with managing out Under 14 side.

These days Steve still plays his club cricket for Sutton CC in Surrey's Premier Division.

Under 15 manager: Matt Stiddard

After coming through the Surrey CCC age group system, Matt went on to represent both Kent 2XI and Sussex 2XI as well as Loughborough University MCCU.

A wicket-keeper batsman by trade, Matt currently plays for Bexley CC in the Kent Premier League.

He recently spent two winters in Australia playing Grade Cricket where he developed an interest in coaching. A young and ambitious coach, Matt is excited to start his coaching career with LSCA.

Academy manager: Peter Yeates

Peter Yeates is a former county second-team player who is now an experienced professional in the world of finance and investment.

Alongside his work he spends time taking his two children to various sporting activities. Peter is also a key part of LSCA in his position as secretary.

When time permits, Peter also enjoys playing for Finchley Cricket Club in London.
